Cyrano
On Old Big Nose… and Panache! From Cyrano de Bergerac.
Seven Helen Hayes Award Nominations. Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Director

By Edmond Roastand. Translated by Michael Hollinger. Adapted by Michael Hillinger & Aaron Posner.

This has been one of my favorite plays from the first time I saw it when I was very young. There is something deeply inspiring in Cyrano’s story that makes me want to live my life more fully— and that is a message I think well worth sharing. Michael Hollinger and I shared a love of the this script and a desire to make it fresher and more accessible to folks who could not afford the small army of actors necessary to do it. Our nine-person version, conceived by us both, but largely written by Michael, is a small gem that keeps the beating heart of the story alive.
“...delivers on beautiful language and fancy swashbuckling, in a classic story crisply told.”
